Odisha Judicial Service Civil Judge: Mains written exam
The main written examination for OJS shall be on the following two compulsory papers and three optional papers. Each of the compulsory subjects shall carry 150 marks with duration of two and half hours and each of the optional subjects shall carry 150 marks with duration of three hours.
Compulsory Papers:
Paper 1 for 150 Marks: General English
Paper 2 for 150 Marks: Procedural Laws
Optional Papers:
A candidate may choose any three subjects among the following:
(i) Law of Crime & Law of Torts — 150 Marks
(ii) Personal Law – 150 marks
(iii) Law of Property – 150 marks
(iv) Law of Contract – 150 marks
(v) Jurisprudence and Constitution of India – 150 marks
Viva-Voce/Personality Test: Odisha Judiciary
Selected candidates will have to attend the Personality test that is conducted for 100 marks. The final merit is prepared on the basis of marks secured in the mains exam and interview.

However, the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for the preparation of the final merit list and is only of qualifying nature. The Cut-off marks are decided by the exam conducting authority to shortlist the qualifying candidates. Clearing the cut-off is important for each of the candidates.
